I am interested in sharing different study methods among the Pace Law School Community. My article’s intent is to provide an example of how one might go about studying. It is clear in law school that everyone works hard and adopts a unique approach to studying the law. A friend of mine from Harvard Law School shared his school syllabus and experience, and on the syllabus was Examples and Explinations as well as standardized case books.
On the other hand professor Doernberg taught me alot. In torts I used the case study method and learned how to construct legal rules out of common-law. I am very thankful of him for that. Many have approached me and expressed their positive experiences with the case study method. I find it to be a more comprehensive and lasting study of the law.
1L year, as porfessor Mushlin put it, “was the most intellectually stimulating year of my life.” I tend to agree. So for those who would like to share their experiences please post a post on my blog, and good luck to the entering 1L class.
